I like to cook-I’m not so great but I have fun. I’m a much better baker. My husband and my mother on the other hand. oh my goodness. it’s incredible. My dad had a heart attack when I was 14 and the whole family rearranged our taste buds and cooking skills-it took some getting used to, but I don’t even think about it now. My mother started cooking after this and she makes killer italian. I am forever begging my mother to make Huge vats of spaghetti sauce and freeze them for me. I was trying to help her cook the other day and I was very suprised to see her pull out Mrs. Dash Italian Medley Seasoning Blend and dump almost half a bottle in this giant pot. She winked at me and told me that it is her secret ingrediant. So I got to thinking..what other great Mrs. Dash seasoning products are out there that might make me seem like a better cook. So on the next shopping trip I went down the aisles and threw about 5 of them into the cart. My husband looked at me funny and asked what I was doing. I wanted to try to show off my newfound cooking skills (even though I wasn’t sure if I could do anything differnt) and told him it was a suprise. I got home and put the groceries away and in the spice cupboard (we have one of those!?) I found a ton of Mrs. Dash products. No wonder he looked at me so funny, we already had them! Well didn’t I feel goofy after that.
I’ve been trying since then-I’ve discovered that fresh herbs work great in dishes and give them lots of flavor. I try to use fresh veggies instead of frozen because it tastes a little fuller. I’ve also become a big fan of Mrs. Dash. I like to think I know her personally, we’re become very tight in the kitchen. Along with my moms super secret spaghetti sauce (I still can’t get mine to taste like hers but at least its not out of a jar) I use Mrs. Dash on my garlic bread-try this little twist. Brush bread with olive oil, sprinkle generously with Tomato Basil Garlic and heat under the grill until toasted. We then put some shredded cheeze and a tomato slice on it. A little different take, but my kiddos are getting even more veggies and the taste rocks.
Check out a couple of these meals-I just ate dinner and they make me want to eat again.
